Ephedra
Ephedrine is a salt of an alkaloid and is very
soluble in water. Acting as a nerve stimulant resembling adrenaline,
ephedrine has been used for over 2,000 years to treat bronchial
asthma cold and flu, chills, lack of perspiration, headache, nasal
congestion, aching joints and bones, cough and wheezing, and edema.
As a central nervous system refreshment, the
ephedrine is increases basal metabolic rate (BMR), meaning it
spurs the body to burn calories faster. Many weight loss products
uses some combination and amounts of Ephedrine. This is great
for anybody wanting to lose weight, in combination with a proper
diet and exercise. Ephedrine is mostly used by the athletes and
by the body builders to stimulate the nerve as well as to reduce

Evening Primrose Oil
Evening primrose is a small yellow wildflower
has been used medicinally for centuries. The oil, pressed from
the seed, is rich in linoleic acid, an necessary fatty acid (EFA).
It means that we have to consume the nutrient because the body
does not produce it. EFAs are plenteous in foods, notably nuts
and seeds. These polyunsaturated fats are good fats, not like
the saturated fats that are bad that contribute to heart disease..
Evening primrose oil also gives another fatty acid, known as gamma-linolenic
acid, GLA .
Evening primrose oil is a member of the w6 family
of fatty acids, and GLA is the result of the first step in the
change of linoleic acid to the beneficial series 1 prostaglandins.
Evening primrose has shown promise in the treatment
of PMS symptoms, together with irritable bowel syndrome related
to menstruation and menopausal complaints. Researchers think this
is associated to evening primrose’s ability to stimulate
hormone production. Evening primrose was reported secure and effective
in relieving problems associated with breast pain and tenderness.
Body builders will use this evening primrose oil to get relief
from some pain. It is preventing them from the weakness and getting
tired.

Feverfew
From the Past years the healers made great use
of feverfew is also known as Tanacetum parthenium .The feathery
green leaves of this plant have been used as treatment for all
kinds of illnesses, including headaches, stomach upset, rheumatoid
arthritis, and menstrual problems. When in full bloom, feverfew
blossoms produce a powerful aroma, leading the earliest people
to believe that its flowery scent can purify the air and prevent
diseases. Because of its strong smell, the feverfew plant has
been used in gardens to keep away bees and various insects. And
true its name, it was a popular traditional remedy for fever.
Feverfew exactly helps in preventing migraines
is also another mystery. Most likely, the parthenolides in feverfew
are responsible. These substances can, among other things, inhibit
the manufacture of certain inflammatory compounds in the body.
Like aspirin, parthenolides prevent blood platelets from clumping
together. Feverfew is also taken as preventive medicine. It is
said to alleviate and lessen the intensity of a migraine as well
as the incidence of symptoms associated with headaches, such as
nausea and vomiting. For some important reason body builders may

Fish Oils
The essential fatty acids in fish oil, known
as omega-3s not only are essential for a healthy heart and the
cardiovascular system, but cooperate in a critical role in the
health of your skin, joints, cell membrane structure, nervous
system, fight depression and make kids smarter. Adding omega-3s
to your diet from fish or fish oil supplements also helps neutralize
the excess saturated fat and omega-6 oils found in meats and most
vegetable oils.
Fish oils contain essential fatty acids, and
good fats. Fish oils such as Alpha Omega M-3 also force excess
nutrients to be quickly burned as fuel, which is tremendously
important in attempting to lose body fat and maintain desired
weight control. Alpha Omega M-3 helps not only block fat storage
before it even starts, but also prevents fat cell growth and multiplication.
Alpha Omega-3's also lower serum triglyceride levels, reduces
blood pressure, minimizes hardening of the arteries, stabilizes
heart rhythm and is essential for optimal brain development and
purpose. These fish oil supplements really do for overall health
and they assist in our body building goals.

Flavonoids
Flavonoids, including isoflavones, are natural
components in our diet and, with the growing interest in alternative
medicine, are increasingly being ingested by the universal population.
Plant phenolics, which form moieties on flavonoid rings, such
as gallic acid, are also broadly consumed. Several beneficial
properties have been qualified to these dietary compounds, including
antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticarcinogenic effects.
Flavonoid preparations are marketed as herbal
medicines or dietary supplements for a variety of alleged nontoxic
therapeutic effects for body builders and to the athletes. Based
on the people it might be used by the ordinary peoples also. While
most flavonoids/phenolics are considered safe, flavonoid/phenolic
therapy or chemopreventive use needs to be assessed as there has
been information of toxic flavonoid-drug interactions, liver failure,
and contact dermatitis, hemolytic anemia. And estrogenic-related
concerns such as male reproductive health and breast cancer associated
with dietary flavonoid/phenolic utilization or exposures.

Folic Acid
The Folic Acid is also one of the water soluble
constituents of B-Vitamin which promoted generating healthy body
cells. To prevent the neuron tube disarrays you need to take it
daily since it does not last longer because of water solubility.
For the essential growth of foetus in the womb during the pregnancy
the body requires more quantity of B-Vitamin. Body builders use
this folic acid because it provides healthy body cells from vitamin
B.
Folic acid is also known as folacin and pteroylglutamic
acid. Folic acid is the hallowed B-complex Vitamin essential in
the synthesis of DNA. The problem that are encounter when there
is a decreasing folic acid and suffer anemia, poor growth, and
irritation of the mouth. Folic acid obviously occurs in yeast,
liver, green vegetables, whole grain cereals and many other foods.

Fats
Fat is the major, if not the most important,
fuel for light to moderate intensity exercise. It is most concentrated
source of food energy and supplies twice as many calories by weight
(9 grams) as protein (4 grams) or carbohydrates (4 grams).
Fat provides essential fatty acids or EFA's,
and is necessary for the proper functioning of cell membranes,
skin and hormones, and for the transporting of fat-soluble vitamins.
Each pound of fat is equal to 3,500 calories. This means that
an individual weighing 163 lbs with 10% body fat has 16.3 pounds
of fat, which is equal to 57,000 calories.
Fat is required for the production of cell membranes,
blood lipids (body fat), bile (fat emulsifier), steroids and vitamin
D. Fats molecules are made up of glycerol and fatty acids.Body
fat is also instrumental in body temperature regulation as insulation.
Minimum body fat percentages of 7% for men and
12% for women are recommended. Fats are also utilized for the
transport and absorption of fat soluble vitamins. In addition,
fats are the only source of linoleic acid which is required for
skin growth and maintenance. Minimum daily requirement for unsaturated
fat is 10 grams and 15 grams is preferred.
